Sharm El Sheikh International Museum of Antiquities and Heritage considered to be the second archaeological museum that combines beach tourism and cultural tourism, after the Hurghada Museum.

The construction of the Sharm El-Sheikh Museum began in 2003, but it stopped in 2011 as a result of the events of the January 25 
revolution, and work resumed in it again in 2018, and it was opened in 2020, at a cost of 812 million pounds, it contains 5200 pieces.

South sinai

  • The museum is located in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, on the Airport Road.

  • Sharm El sheikh museum consists of 6 exhibition halls, in addition to an administrative building, another for restaurants, an area for antiques shops, fountain area, an open theater, cinema, a rest house for workers, and a conference hall that can accommodate about 1.000 people, in addition to libraries for children and adults.

  The museum contains 3 halls, the Great Hall, the Hathori Corridor, and the Cemetery Area.

A large group of mummified animals displayed inside the museum were found in Saqqara, such as cats, scarabs, crocodiles, and falcons.

Bathroom (Tel al-Hayr)

  • bath (Tel al-Hayr) was moved from North Sinai to display in the museum, and it is the product of the first Egyptian excavations in Sinai region that took place in 1983 after the liberation of Sinai, Sharm El-Sheikh Museum is distinguished by being the first museum to display a bathroom dating back to the Ptolemaic era.

The third hall (the cemetery area)

  • The third hall (the cemetery area), it is a simulation of a complete archaeological cemetery with all it's details and the funeral furniture it contains, which are placed with the owner of the cemetery.

  • The museum displays two wooden sun boats, which are more than 10 meters long and 2.30 meters wide, it belongs to King Senusret III of the Middle Kingdom, it were discovered in 1910 near to the pyramid of Senusret III in Dahshur.

Hathor corridor 

  • Hathor corridor was given this name;  due to the presence of many pieces belonging to the goddess Hathor, as well as some statues of Kings Thutmose I, Hatshepsut, Nectanebo, Ramses II, and Ramses III.  

  • The museum is not limited to displaying Pharaonic artifacts only, but also includes a hall with some Greek, Roman and Byzantine antiquities.

  • Inside the museum there are also some models that express the heritage, rituals and customs of the people of Sinai, the tools they use, and the Bedouin dress.

  • The museum has a special access path for people with special needs.

  • Inside the museum, an archaeological model of a room from the Ottoman civilization is displayed.

  • The price of entry tickets for the Egyptian visitor is about 40 pounds, and for the Egyptian student, 20 pounds, as for the foreign tourist, the ticket price is about 200 pounds, and 100 pounds for the foreign student.

  • The museum is open seven days a week for two periods, in the morning period (from 10 a.m to 1 p.m) and the evening period (from 5 p.m to 11 p.m).
